  • Delay the Laundry: Never run an automatic washing machine, clothes dryer, or electric iron during peak hours.
  • Water Pumps: Ensure your overhead water tank is fully filled before 5:00 PM.

Do Single-Phase Meters Have Peak Hours?

No. If you have a standard single-phase meter, you are charged a flat rate regardless of the time of day.

However, single-phase meters are subject to aggressive "slab pricing". This means the more total units you consume in a month (e.g., crossing the 200, 300, or 400 unit threshold), the higher the base rate becomes for all units. While you don't have to watch the clock, you absolutely must watch your overall monthly consumption.
